Velocity FC welcomes Ariel Mbumba, a gifted winger, as their newest addition to the team roster.
Ariel Mbubma grew up playing in San Jose, California and began working with prestigious youth development programs at 14 including San Jose Earthquakes Youth, Silicon Valley Soccer Academy, Juventus Sport Club and Portland Timbers Youth Academy.
At 19, Mbubma signed with Oakland Roots SC and joined their 2020 roster in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). Mbubma continued with the club when the Roots moved to the USL Championship. He comes to Velocity FC from MLS Next Pro Columbus Crew 2 FC.

He comes with a lot of experience for a player so young and brings a lot of flexibility for the team,” said Velocity FC Head Coach Leigh Veidman. “It’s also a huge value that he’s been a part of an expansion franchise in Oakland Roots and understands the highs and the lows that come with that. Most importantly we’ve added another high character person and player to the club and community who brings a humility and growth mindset that will help push us forward.”
Ariel Mbumba will be wearing number 14 when he takes the pitch for Spokane Velocity FC this season.
