Friendly Match Part of Season Ticket Package
Spokane Velocity FC Fans are in for a treat. Velocity FC will be hosting a friendly match against international opponent C.D. Guadalajara Chivas U23 Sunday, June 2, 6 p.m. at ONE Spokane Stadium.
The Chivas are regarded as the most popular and successful Mexican football club and are based in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, Jalisco, Mexico. The club’s U23 team is the reigning champion of Liga MX Apertura U23, solidifying its stature as one of the premier developmental clubs for players under the age of 23.
“Playing against a strong opponent tends to bring the best out in players so it’ll be a fun yet valuable experience for the team, “said Leigh Veidman, Velocity FC Head Coach. “With us having a large break between matches it’s really important for us to stay in a good rhythm of playing so we can continue to improve. Aside from that, it’s always enjoyable to test yourself against high level opposition with a different style of play than we are used to.”
